Toy Trains have been a classic in the United States for many years.
As a kid I had an electric train set and it was one of my favorite toys.
We bought our son a battery powered train set and he enjoys it quite a bit.
Hopefully when he gets older we'll be able to get him a bigger train set.

Many artists have contributed in the toy train area.
Some of my favorites are the Green Steam train by Simon Heart and
the Little Locomotive by Lila Rose Kennedy.
The Little Locomotive Train Poster reminds me of my son's book
where the little blue engine keeps saying, "I think I can I think I can".
The train books provides an important lesson to children. It
teaches them that if they never give up there is a good chance
they will succeed in many things.

One of my favorite childhood memories is when we took the train from
Chicago to Los Angeles. Seeing train posters reminds me of the trip.
It was a lot of fun because we had one of those big sleeping units.
Taking the train is different from both cars and planes.
Plane rides are very fast and you can't always see a lot from the air.
Car rides are similar but everything is seen from a different perspective on the train.
It is really cool when everyone goes to sleep in one state and then wakes
up in a different state with completely different scenery.

Even though we weren't on an old fashioned steam engine,
the poster by Wempler reminds me of the trip.
